Nice book to read, not terribly splendid, but it was nice to read。 In the beginning - it kinda brought me down, it was quite confronting。 Which is good of course, it means it's recognisable。 But then eventually it did give me a sort of power vibe。 It gave Lust For Life, to enjoy life and live for yourself and not for someone else。 It's like a gentle reminder ^^ Nice book to read, not terribly splendid, but it was nice to read。 In the beginning - it kinda brought me down, it was quite confronting。 Which is good of course, it means it's recognisable。 But then eventually it did give me a sort of power vibe。 It gave Lust For Life, to enjoy life and live for yourself and not for someone else。 It's like a gentle reminder ^^ 。。。more

The perfect post-break up read。 This book is filled with wisdom and laughs, and reminds you that all thinks work out as they should even if you can’t see it right away。

It was my first book by this author。 I liked it and read it easily, considering how deeper I have fallen into a reading slump for a while now。 It was funny, I mean it didn't make me laugh or something but still it was funny。Rachel was funny and stupid (sorry)。 I mean she used to started dreaming her future with any guy she talked/met。 I was like, Rachel please stop it。 You are 28 and grown up。 She was lucky to have sincere friends like Emelie and Mathew。 They helped her a lot post break-up。 I'm It was my first book by this author。 I liked it and read it easily, considering how deeper I have fallen into a reading slump for a while now。 It was funny, I mean it didn't make me laugh or something but still it was funny。Rachel was funny and stupid (sorry)。 I mean she used to started dreaming her future with any guy she talked/met。 I was like, Rachel please stop it。 You are 28 and grown up。 She was lucky to have sincere friends like Emelie and Mathew。 They helped her a lot post break-up。 I'm glad Simon got few punches on his nose。 I hated him till the end。I was just wondering how just one letter could open your eyes? As was seen in case of that guy。 The topic was tackled quite wonderfully。 The author has written so well about being in love, relationship, and just the thought of being in relationship。 There is clear difference between these, that sometimes people merge these boundaries and mistake idea of being in relationship for love。 It really takes a long time, heart breaks to make you realize what you want, or at least what you don't want。P。s: I'm definitely going to read more books from this author。 。。。more

People in these books are so rich and so privileged, I cannot actually feel bad for them when bad things happen to them。

This book got me out of a 5 year reading slump lmao。 It was a fun, enjoyable, light, eventful, and overall great book! I LOVED the friendship dynamics in this book。 (Dan is my fav character 🤫)

Very predictable, light and fluffy, everything you’d expect from a book in this genre。 A bit too much of the ”got a lipstick from this brand and a powder from this”。 I never find that that adds to the story and to me it’s a bit of an easy way to ’describe’ things。 All in all a quick listen, although the narrator didn’t make enough difference between the characters, which made it sometimes difficult to tell who was speaking。 Her American accents were also quite bad。

This was not my favorite Lindsey Kelk book。 I listened to the audio version and found out I did not like the narrator。 In my opinion her voice did not fit the book, it's too raspy。 I spent too much time disliking the voice instead of concentrating to the story。 The story has good qualities, but I think two weeks to complete the single girl's to-do list is too fast。 How many people can believably stop working for two weeks in order to carry out these tasks, most of them requiring money? I feel like I've read too many romantic comedy books where the main character is "normal", but she has a zany and beautiful best female friend and a hilarious gay friend。 The previous Lindsey Kelk book I read was "One in a Million" and it had the *exact same* trio of characters。 Also - Toronto is not full of super polite Canadians。 It's full of busy big city rude people - just like all the other big cities in the world。 And there really isn't maple syrup EVERYWHERE, unless you are only shopping I feel like I've read too many romantic comedy books where the main character is "normal", but she has a zany and beautiful best female friend and a hilarious gay friend。 The previous Lindsey Kelk book I read was "One in a Million" and it had the *exact same* trio of characters。 Also - Toronto is not full of super polite Canadians。 It's full of busy big city rude people - just like all the other big cities in the world。 And there really isn't maple syrup EVERYWHERE, unless you are only shopping at tacky souvenir shops。 But the description of the tackiness that surrounds Niagara Falls was pretty spot on。Other than all that - it was an okay/fun read。 For some reason my edition of the book was littered with weird quotation mistakes and other weird typos。 。。。more

Read it the first time years ago and tried reading it again only to remember my struggle at getting through the pages because it was just filled with filler words。 This time round I really couldn't get through even half of the book。 I find that I couldn't relate to the protagonist - Rachel - too much drinking, and references to things that I get lost every few minutes。 I LOVED Lindsey's I Heart series, but this book was just not for me。 I thought as a single girl I would appreciate it, but I did Read it the first time years ago and tried reading it again only to remember my struggle at getting through the pages because it was just filled with filler words。 This time round I really couldn't get through even half of the book。 I find that I couldn't relate to the protagonist - Rachel - too much drinking, and references to things that I get lost every few minutes。 I LOVED Lindsey's I Heart series, but this book was just not for me。 I thought as a single girl I would appreciate it, but I didn't love Dan's character, and I just felt dejected reading through。 If you've just broken up with a long time boyfriend and you're newly single, this may be the book for you。 But if you're single and looking for a cute romance, empowering book with a strong female lead, this is not for you。 。。。more

Too cliche honestly, like every other chick-flick book。 I'm happy I'm still alive after reading it and dying from boredom。 It's not that the book is so bad, made ma laugh a tiny bit here and there, but too cliche, i knew the end from the 5th page。。。 literally。 Too cliche honestly, like every other chick-flick book。 I'm happy I'm still alive after reading it and dying from boredom。 It's not that the book is so bad, made ma laugh a tiny bit here and there, but too cliche, i knew the end from the 5th page。。。 literally。 。。。more

Lovely feel-good story! I read this book for the second time and still loved it。 Rachel gets dumped and has to find out how to actually be single。 She makes a list and sims to tick off all items。 Along the way she learns new stuff about herself, learns to love herself and grow stronger and independent。 I like how this book is not about getting the guy, but about finding yourself and putting yourself first。

It's good, but not that special and only up to good。 I like the idea of a woman that only knew to be in a relationship all her life finally break free and I like how this book tells story about her coping with the new change, what I don't really like is how cynical she is。 And I want friends like Matthew & Em too, without them, Rachel's life will definitely be over。 It's good, but not that special and only up to good。 I like the idea of a woman that only knew to be in a relationship all her life finally break free and I like how this book tells story about her coping with the new change, what I don't really like is how cynical she is。 And I want friends like Matthew & Em too, without them, Rachel's life will definitely be over。 。。。more

It would be lovely if chick lit would stop romanticising lusting after serial cheaters。 K thanks。 This book could very easily have been about a woman finding autonomy and empowerment after the breakdown of her relationship。 Also, she's not even single for that long。 It would be lovely if chick lit would stop romanticising lusting after serial cheaters。 K thanks。 This book could very easily have been about a woman finding autonomy and empowerment after the breakdown of her relationship。 Also, she's not even single for that long。 。。。more

I can’t remember when I got this book – I think it was free in an iBooks promo or something, it wasn’t that long ago, maybe around Christmas。 I’ve read a few Lindsey Kelk books – some I’ve really loved, others have not quite hit the same highs for me。 But her books do fit the bill of the sort of books I’m really craving at the moment and when I saw this sitting on my iPad, I decided to finally read it。Rachel has been with her boyfriend Simon for 4 years。 They have a mortgage, a car, they’ve book I can’t remember when I got this book – I think it was free in an iBooks promo or something, it wasn’t that long ago, maybe around Christmas。 I’ve read a few Lindsey Kelk books – some I’ve really loved, others have not quite hit the same highs for me。 But her books do fit the bill of the sort of books I’m really craving at the moment and when I saw this sitting on my iPad, I decided to finally read it。Rachel has been with her boyfriend Simon for 4 years。 They have a mortgage, a car, they’ve booked a holiday to Croatia。 She’s expecting they’ll get married and have children but instead, Simon requests “space” and then after a month of that, breaks up with her。 Rachel is devastated and not quite sure how to deal。 She’s never really been single before either, bouncing from one relationship to the next so her two best friends, Emelie and Matthew decide that she should use this time to do all the things that she never really did because she hasn’t been single。 So it’s time for travel, a tattoo, something that scares her, contacting a past crush and a few other things as well。Wow okay, this book is like alcohol and bad decisions。 I don’t really drink and I have a phobia of vomiting so the idea of drinking until I puke on a regular basis gives me high level anxiety。 Not Rachel and Emelie though – there’s a lot of drinking in this, followed by vomiting and then backed up with more drinking。 It got a bit annoying after a while, I understand a session after Simon and Rachel break up but it sort of becomes this ongoing theme。 And if I remember some of the other Kelk books I’ve read, drinking nearly always plays a rather large part in the lifestyles of her characters。I liked Rachel and her journey of doing things that she hasn’t ever really had an opportunity to do as a single girl。 The story of the tattoo and some of the other things were fun but the contacting the high school/band camp crush felt a little far fetched for me。 Also there’s a bit of drama about her friend Emelie and her brother Paul and also Matthew and some drama in his life as well which takes up page space but actually doesn’t really go that far。I know this is about Rachel finding herself and standing on her own two feet as a single woman now, moving on past Simon and what he did to her。 He really did break up with her in an awfully cowardly way and I’m really glad the book actually gave Rachel a chance to air her thoughts to him on how he made her feel and how terrible his actions truly were。 They’d been together for years and the way he treated her was with such disrespect。 However – books where the main character and the love interest only get together on the last page, really frustrate me! I know not everyone wants a side of romance with their women’s fiction or chick lit or whatever your preferred title is…but I do! I wanted a bit more between them, it always felt a bit like her attitude towards him was a bit unfounded and could’ve been expanded upon somewhat。 And although they had maybe 1-2 meaningful interactions, I would’ve liked maybe a couple more! But I’m like that。 I like a good chunk of romance mixed in with the whole main character figuring out her life type thing! This was okay! Definitely kept me occupied, even if I didn’t fall completely in love with it。 。。。more

This was one of the most entertaining, hilarious and thrilling stories that I’ve ever read。 If I had to come up with other adjectives to describe it besides the ones already mentioned above, they would be ‘amusing’, ‘colorful’, and ‘powerful’。 However, I just don’t think that a bunch of words can make enough justice to the book’s content and its message。 Although, at first the book’s title makes you think of a ‘not to be missed’ list of things to do while one’s still single, young and crazy, Rac This was one of the most entertaining, hilarious and thrilling stories that I’ve ever read。 If I had to come up with other adjectives to describe it besides the ones already mentioned above, they would be ‘amusing’, ‘colorful’, and ‘powerful’。 However, I just don’t think that a bunch of words can make enough justice to the book’s content and its message。 Although, at first the book’s title makes you think of a ‘not to be missed’ list of things to do while one’s still single, young and crazy, Rachel’s to-do list is much more than that, it is about prioritizing those things that you want to do in your life, weather you’re still single or not, it is about surpassing yourself everyday。I loved this concept that the author tried to transmit through Rachel’s transformation。 I was also delighted seeing that it was a first point of view type of narration and its flow made it an easy and enjoyable read。 It’s not at all the soapy, cheesy, melancholic kind of story for teenagers。 Contrariwise, it is straightforward and dealing with the average ‘shit’ an adult has to face in order to learn that no one can make you as happy as yourself and eventually everything will fall into place。 Loved every ‘bit’ of it。 。。。more

Honestly, I loved the story and I think is really one of the best I've read of the author。 If you listen to it it really is kind of a list to live your life in general。 The main character is really good, though as most of Lindsey's Kelk books, the friend's of the main character really are amazing。 Again I wish she could elaborate about the main character's love interest a little more, as it seems a little shallow compared to the rest of the characters, especially if you consider that he ends bei Honestly, I loved the story and I think is really one of the best I've read of the author。 If you listen to it it really is kind of a list to live your life in general。 The main character is really good, though as most of Lindsey's Kelk books, the friend's of the main character really are amazing。 Again I wish she could elaborate about the main character's love interest a little more, as it seems a little shallow compared to the rest of the characters, especially if you consider that he ends being the love of her life。 I really recommend this book is refreshing and fun to read or listen to。 。。。more
